When I was 18 years old, I didn’t have a clue what a “diet” was. I could eat anything in sight and my metabolism would burn it off so quickly that I didn’t have to worry about gaining weight. Fast forward 10 years later and losing weight has become a bit more challenging than ever. It’s true what they say.
You can’t outwork a bad diet. No matter how much you try, it eventually catches up with you. This is why having a good diet is imperative to reaching you fitness goals.
So how important is diet to your fitness goals? On average, people tend to see more results when they stick to a clean diet then if they workout without eating right.
Believe it or not fitness is only a small part of weight loss. Proper nutrition is the key to weight loss. The reason why dieting is so much more effective than exercise is that you need a lot of activity to create a 500 to 700 calorie deficit through working out. You would need to run about 7 to 10 miles every day to lose a pound a week. It’s possible but most people aren’t willing to do that kind of work on a daily basis. To be honest, why would you want to when you can lose weight just by eating the right foods?

So now that you know that Diet is the main reason for weight loss, what should you be eating to promote weight loss?
You should be focusing on whole foods & vegetables to promote weight loss and cutting out processed foods and sugar as well. Something I was told while shopping at the supermarket is that you should focus on buying food items that are at the end of aisle, or around the edges instead of things closer to the center.
MA Fitness has also partnered with CateredFit Foods that helps you get the nutrients and calories your body needs without the processed stuff. You can use our promo code to get $20 off your first order! The convenience of the meals is a simple way to help you get started. They deliver, you heat it up and you eat each week. That’s as simple as it gets.
Changing your diet shouldn’t force you to rewrite everything you eat. Just be more mindful of what you put in your body. Also know that diet is the main reason for weight loss and that exercise is the cherry on top that promotes toning and the shape you desire. Remember, you can’t outwork a bad diet. EVER!
